The “Law/LSJ in Rome” Exploration Seminar is an academically intensive study-abroad program in Rome, Italy, offered through the Law, Societies, and Justice program. In 2011, the program will run from August 24-September 23.  The program is open to advanced undergraduates and students from the Law School.  The application deadline is February 16.

The 10 credit program includes two seminar courses on law and society and European Law.  Students also work on group projects on topics like immigration, criminal justice, privacy and data security, the legal profession, and legal education.  Group project work transforms the incredible city of Rome into an extended classroom.  Students and faculty visit with government officials, attorneys, academic experts, and NGOs based in Italy.  In past years, students have met with top ranking officials in the Italian Government, including Italy’s Foreign Minister and judges from Italy’s Supreme Court.  Faculty come from the LSJ program and the law school.
