Panel Discussion on Prison Education

Flyer describing Prison Education Panel
Monday, May 23, 2016 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm

Join Huskies for Opportunities in Prison Education (HOPE) on Monday, May 23rd, for an intriguing panel discussion on prison education and its role today in the context of a broken criminal justice system. We will show a few short videos to begin the night and then move into a panel discussion moderated by LSJ Professor Katherine Beckett, ending with a Q&A session with the audience.

The panel will include six experts and advocates on prison education from the community, most of whom were formerly incarcerated themselves. Our panelists represent the following groups:
- University Beyond Bars (UBB)
- Freedom Education Project Puget Sound (FEPPS)
- Formerly Incarcerated Groups Healing Together (FIGHT)
- Incarcerated Veterans

We will also be accepting donations toward our fundraising campaign for University Beyond Bars and Freedom Education Project Puget Sound: Cash, check, and credit cards will be accepted.

Light refreshments will be provided. We hope to see you there!
