We are all excited to celebrate your achievements at the LSJ Convocation Ceremony and Reception. The LSJ Convocation Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2025 in Kane Hall 130 beginning at 1:30pm PST. Graduating students will begin checking in at 12:00pm and doors will open for friends and family beginning at 12:30pm.
The ceremony will last around 90 minutes with a reception to follow. The reception will have light refreshments available and LSJ swag available for purchase.

PARKING AND ACCOMMODATIONS
There are several places on campus where guests can park. The Central Garage, which is directly underneath Kane Hall (where the ceremony and reception will be held), has several sections: C2, C3, and C4. All of these lots are pay per use and have the parking codes listed in each parking area. There is also a gatehouse attendant who can help if needed. The Central Garage also has ample disability parking available. If you park in the Central Garage, take the elevator up to floor 1 for the ceremony.
Lot N22 is an all disability parking lot right next to the HUB and not too far away from Kane. If you do need to park in a disability spot, please make sure to have the disability pate or placard visible.
For additional parking services and resources, please visit: https://transportation.uw.edu/park/visitor.
If you or someone in your party needs help being transported to Kane Hall, there are load zones around campus that can be utilized. They can be driven and dropped off at the load zone Kane and you can drive the car back to the initial parking spot.
CHECK-IN INFORMATION
Check-in for guests will begin at 12:45pm with the ceremony beginning promptly as 1:30pm. Invited guests of the LSJ convocation ceremony will check-in separately from graduates. To the right of the entrance to Kane 130, there will be three tables marked “LSJ Convocation Guest ONLY Check-In” where guests should proceed to complete the check-in process. Each table will have a range of last names (A-G, H-O, etc.) – please ensure you are at the correct table based on last name (of the graduating student) when checking in.
LIVESTREAM
Our ceremony will be live streamed! If you have guests or family members who live out of state, out of country, are unable to attend for whatever reason, they can watch via livestream using the link below:
The livestream will officially go live 5 minutes before the ceremony and will promptly turn off 15 minutes after the ceremony.
The livestream page will automatically update when the livestream begins. Depending on browser settings, users may need to press the “play” button on the view player when it appears. Most browsers will indicate the need for this extra step. The livestream will be viewable until 6:00pm PDT same day. The livestream video will be a static camera shot of the front of the room (which includes, podium, screen, and the stage).
HONORS
Special honor cords, if awarded, may be worn by undergraduate students who have earned baccalaureate honors (Cum laude, Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude). Baccalaureate honors are determined by the Registrar based on GPA. For details, contact the Office of the Registrar at ugradoff@uw.edu or 206-543-1803.
Ceremonial cords are also available to students completing a curriculum within the University Honors Program: Interdisciplinary Honors, Departmental Honors, or College Honors (Departmental Honors plus Interdisciplinary Honors). For details, contact the Honors Program at uwhonors@uw.edu or 206-543-7444. Students will have the option to purchase honors cords when ordering their graduation regalia.

Graduation Degree Title Correction Form: If a graduate's Degree Title in SDB is subject to change, or unlikely to be updated prior to May 5th, this form allows advisors to notify Office of Ceremonies. This form can also be used to provide School/College/Department/Advisor approval for a student to participate in Commencement if not eligible. This form also allows Office of Ceremonies to assign the correct regalia to student records in the registration system. Advisors will have access to this form in early April.

- Please note you will be receiving information from the Office of the Registrar or the Graduate School via your UW.edu email on the process you need to follow to either 1) select a “Commencement Program Name,” if desired, or 2) request not to be listed in the Commencement Program. If you do not follow this process, your record name on file with the University will be used in the program. Please watch your email for this information and pay attention to any stated deadlines.
In May: Graduates register online for Commencement, order cap & gown, tickets, parking permits ($17.75 if pre-ordered, $18.75 on day of event), via Commencement Registration/Order Form.
Participants in the 2025 Commencement Ceremony should complete the registration/order form at www.graduation.uw.edu to obtain cap & gown, tickets for themselves and their guests, and parking permits. In addition, they may use this form to order other graduation items (souvenir tassels, honor cards, stoles of gratitude, etc.), donate to the Senior Gift Fund, and join the Alumni Association.
Late May - Early June: Graduates pick up their orders at U Book Store during normal bookstore hours. Students living outside the Seattle area may pick up the following week.
Note: Cap & gown and parking permits will not be available before pick up starts on DATE TBD. Please plan your events accordingly.
