THIS COURSE IS A COMMUNITY BASED LEARNING COURSE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUTDOORS FOR ALL. IN PERSON CLASS MEETINGS WILL BE AT EITHER STEVENS OR SNOQUALMIE PASSES. ONLINE CLASS MEETINGS WILL BE FRIDAYS 1/6; 2/3; 3/3 FROM 10AM-11:30AM. ON MOUNTAIN TRAININGS AT STEVENS OR SNOQUALMIE ARE REQUIRED: 12/3 AND 12/4; 12/10 AND 12/11 CONTINGENCY TRAINING 12/17 AND 12/18. ALL OF THESE TRAININGS ARE 8:30AM-3PM. STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE ON LOCATION AT EITHER STEVENS OR SNOQUALMIE PASSES 7 WEEKEND DAYS (SAT. OR SUN.) BETWEEN 1/7-3/17 FROM 8AM-3PM. STUDENTS WILL CHOOSE FROM A RANGE OF INSTRUCTIONAL ROLES TO SUPPORT. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN SKI/SNOWBOARD/SNOWSHOE/ CROSS-COUNTRY EQUIPMENT FOR INSTRUCTIONAL ROLES. DEEPLY DISCOUNTED SEASON PASS TO EITHER SKI AREAS WILL BE PROVIDED.
Catalog Description:
Analyzes disability representations in literature, film, and other cultural texts; social science approaches to disability marginalization and empowerment; intersectionality of disability with other markers of diversity and identity. Offered: jointly with CHID 332/DIS ST 332; AWSpS.
